The former fishing village of Messonghi is on the south-east coast of Corfu, 23 km south of Corfu town and the airport.
The resort is running parallel to the sea for about a kilometer and half and it is separated from its close neighbor resort Moraitika by the Messonghi River. Vacations in Messonghi are mostly about the long sandy beach on a coastal plain backed by olive grove covered hills. Messonghi beach is away from the traffic of the main road and is well organized, with shallow areas safe for children and plenty of water sport activities on offer. Nightlife consists of a modest selection of bars and tavernas, with the option of Moraitika across the river for a livelier alternative.
